Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the course before you start.
What is the VA Loan Confidence Course?
It's a free, self-paced online course with 8 modules and 42 videos covering everything you need to understand and confidently use your VA loan benefit. From eligibility and credit requirements to advanced wealth-building strategies.
Who is this course for?
Any veteran, active duty service member, or Guard/Reserve member who has earned a VA loan benefit. Whether you're buying your first home or your fifth, the course meets you where you are.
Is the course really free?
Yes. No credit card required, no upsell, no catch. This is veteran-to-veteran education. The course was created because too many veterans miss out on their earned benefit due to myths and misinformation.
How long does the course take to complete?
The course is entirely self-paced. Most people complete it in a few hours spread over a week or two, but you can go as fast or slow as you want. Your access never expires.
Do I need any prior knowledge about VA loans or mortgages?
No. The course starts with the basics and builds from there. Module 1 covers what the VA loan benefit is and why it exists. By Module 8, you'll understand advanced strategies like multi-unit properties and wealth-building.
What will I be able to do after completing the course?
You'll understand your eligibility, know what to expect during the loan process, be able to identify and avoid common myths, choose the right lender, and make informed decisions about using your VA loan benefit.
How do I access the course after signing up?
After creating your account, you'll receive a confirmation email. Once confirmed, log in and you'll have immediate access to all 8 modules.
Can I revisit modules after I've completed them?
Absolutely. Your access is permanent. Come back and review any module whenever you need a refresher.
Is this course affiliated with any lender or bank?
The course itself is independent — it isn't owned, sponsored, or endorsed by any lender, and it doesn't push you toward any specific loan product. To be fully transparent: Jason Skinrood is a licensed mortgage loan originator (NMLS #180306) with Edge Home Finance, LLC (NMLS #891464) — that's how he stays current on VA loan guidelines and what he does for a living. But Edge has no ownership or editorial role in the course, and the curriculum is the same whether you ever speak with Jason about a loan or not.
I'm not ready to buy a home yet. Should I still take the course?
Yes. Understanding your benefit before you need it puts you in a much stronger position. Many veterans wait until they're actively house-hunting to learn about VA loans, which leads to rushed decisions and missed opportunities.
